The wedding venue you select will ultimately determine the over all look of your wedding day. I learned this from my good friend Nelly from Artistry Abloom when we started collaborating on editorials together. She’s amazing!
I would suggest choosing a space that has a lot of neutral colors but preferably all white if you want it to be suuuuper light and airy. Tour the venue and look at the bridal room. What do the walls look like? Is the room surrounded in dark wood? If so, that’s probably not the best choice. The same goes for the ceremony! Checkout the venues below! They are beautiful wedding venues in Texas and totally on my bucket list!!
Aaaaaand this is where I come in!! My style is light, airy, classy and inspired by traditional film. I am a natural light photographer which means that I rely on the sun 80% of the time to get that clean look that I love so much. Which leads me to the next point. The sun!
So you want those dreamy bride and groom portraits with that beautiful glow in the sun right?! You will have to plan for it way ahead of time to shoot 1 to 2 hours before the sunset and it all starts with your ceremony time. I recommend:
Winter Ceremony 2:30pm-3:30pm
Spring Ceremony 3:30pm-4:30pm
Fall Ceremony 4:30pm-5:30pm
Summer Ceremony 5:30pm-6:30pm
My absolute favorite colors to photograph are light blue and blush. They are pretty, classy and never seem to go out of style. My recommendation would be to use light neutral colors for a very bright clean look. However, you can honestly do any color palette as long as your wedding venue and photographer have that cohesive light and airy-ness.
Hope these tips helped you!
