5 Things You Should Trust Your Photographer With

1. Choosing the Location

One of my favorite parts of my job is taking something so ordinary and making it look absolutely amazing!  This happens most often when it comes to picking portrait locations! Houston has so many amazing photo session locations!  If there is one thing that I love and appreciate about my clients, it’s that they trust us!  Sometimes I select portrait locations that most people wouldn’t consider attractive. It may seem grungy and seemingly “ugly” from everyone else’s point of view except mine! So my encouragement is to just trust us!  You don’t have to worry about a thing!  Trust our locations, and I promise you, you’ll LOVE the results! The image above was taken at a field behind a Chick-Fil-A parking lot!

2. Time of Day to Shoot

Lighting is key to creating beautiful images and using the natural light of the sun will produce the best lighting setting but that doesn’t mean any time of the day will give you the same results. I LOVE shooting during the golden hour! This is the time of the day when the light is the softest and gives me that “light and airy” photography look. It’s usually 1 to 2 hours before sunset or after sunrise.

3. Poses

Trust me to know what pose is the most flattering for you. I will be able to see how the light is illuminating you and what is in the background. I will also guide you exactly on what to do and where to place your hands so that you never feel lost or awkward!

4. Editing Your Photos

If you’ve stuck around this far I’m going to assume that you like my style! So trust my creative eye during the editing process. I will know which images will look best in black and white, color, cropped and etc.

5. Handling Printing Your Photos

I’ve made this part super easy for my clients! The final online gallery is connected to my professional lab and you can purchase prints directly through there, delivered straight to your door.  Checkout this Youtube Tutorial ! The worst thing you can do is have a stunning image, order a large print and find the colors are off, the image is blurred or it simply looks dull. Knowing where to get your prints made, what size they should be done in and which ones will look best in your albums, wall art or thank you cards is part of the package you get when you hire me. I will guide you through the process so that you get exactly what you envisioned.
