Wedding Day Timeline
One Location (getting ready, ceremony & reception) + First Look
Getting Ready
11:00 – 1:00 Hair & Makeup
(Quick tip! Have YOUR makeup done first and then your bridesmaids. The biggest delays in weddings are due to the brides makeup!)
1:00 – 2:45 Get Into Dress
Groom & Groomsmen Get into Ties & Coats
2:45 – 3:00 Walk to First Look
First Look
3:00 – 3:15 First Look
(Creates a safety net just in case the ceremony runs late and you lose sunlight for your pictures. Also, gives you time to enjoy the cocktail hour with your guests!)
3:15 – 3:45 Bride & Groom Portraits
3:45 – 4:00 Bride with Bridesmaids
4:00 – 4:15 Full Bridal Party
4:15 – 4:30 Groom with Groomsmen
4:30 – 5:00 Immediate Family Photos
5:00 – 5:30 Rest & Retouch Makeup & Hair
Ceremony
5:30 – 6:00 Wedding Ceremony
6:00 – 6:30 Husband & Wife Sunset Portraits
7:00 pm SUNSET: The sunset time will determine how your entire timeline will look. The sunset comes a little earlier in the winter. If you are having a wedding with an early sunset you would push everything back 2 hours.
6:30 – 7:00 Cocktail Hour
(This gives your photographer enough time to get all the Reception Decor before your guests go in)
7:00 – 7:15 Guests Seated & Grand Entrances
7:15 – 7:45 First Dances (Bride & Groom, Father & bride, Mother & Groom)
7:45 – 8:45 Dinner & Speeches
8:45 – 9:45 Bouquet Toss , Garter Toss, Cake cutting
9:45 – 10:15 Controlled Sparkler Exit
(Planning your sparkler exit when the majority of your guests are still there will look way better in pictures!
